The short vacation of Mrs. Hasmik's family from Aleppo "continues" in Armenia for 10 years. The fast food stall they opened at the very beginning has long since become a restaurant. Visitors know that Mrs. Hasmik does not make any difference between family members and herself, in both cases the dishes are homemade, traditional and delicious.
I was born in Aleppo. In September 2012, the whole family came to Armenia for a tour and to get an Armenian passport. At that time, the war in Syria had just started, the situation worsened, we decided to stay. Our vacation of 15 days has been extended for 10 years. My younger son was a student at that time, and my older son had his business in Syria and had returned there. At that time, my husband and I made the decision to stay here. To stay, you had to have a means of livelihood.
At a young age, I graduated from a medical institute, but I did not work, I was with my aunt in Syria. Near the house where we were staying, on Sayat-Nova street, we saw a free stall, decided to take it, named it "Aleppo food" and started serving fast food. We started with Syrian sandwiches and buns. I was cooking, my husband was serving. There were many Syrian Armenians in Armenia at that time, we thought that there would be a demand thanks to them, and that's exactly what happened. Then we added the types of sandwiches.
We started the business in May, in the winter we took another small area at the back of the stall, we started serving hot meals there and called that area "Aleppo Meals".
We started our restaurant business with only 4 tables. We had a kitchen in the new area, where I already had an assistant. We worked like this for four years. The buildings were not made of stone, it was hot in summer and cold in winter. Regular customers encouraged us to develop and work in a better place. 5 years ago we decided to move to Parpets 26 and opened Yasmine Restaurant, we had no problem from the beginning because customers continued to visit this restaurant as well.
